Enduring Peace

Enduring Peace has been elusive

Peace has been elusive. There are many ideas about how to get there. The Bible says, "Peace, Peace but there was no peace". Some people actually believe that we can enforce peace with military troops. Troops are for war and occupation; which seems to be the antithesis of true peace. An enduring peace can only happen when opposing parties come to an agreement or better yet, get to know one another well enough that they come to like one another.

In the holistic approach to health and wellness, we see the coming together of a great many ideas that at one time had seemed incompatible. I approached the study of this developing field with great joy because there was new hope that our approach to staying healthy would be transformed for the better. Through integrating eastern wisdom with western technology, we see a hint of solutions to our problems that we could not imagine 20 years ago. When you add our improved understanding of nutrition and cellular metabolism, the potential for disease prevention is awesome.

As I was developing the ideas for my book, I noticed that eastern and western approaches to life seemed to complement each other impeccably. If our body and soul are in harmony then we will be healthy. Peace is the opposite of dis-ease. This is not only a cute saying but think about it, it's true.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that the more we strive for Optimal Health the closer we will be to Enduring Peace. Health and Peace are intimately related. Only through taking a holistic approach to health as outlined in my book, will we approach enduring peace. This should be the goals of humanity.
