I’ll start by introducing myself and making some introductory comments. I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and finished medical school at Loyola University in 1975. I have practiced traditional primary care medicine ever since. My avocation is philosophy and I spent a fair amount of time at the Philosophical Research Society while a resident in California in the late 1970's. I was introduced to a book "Esoteric Healing" by Alice Bailey around that time and that served as my introduction to alternative medicine. As alternative medicine became popular in the 1990's I studied the various modalities and was a founding diplomat of the American Board of Holistic Medicine in 2000. I am an employed physician and my contract does not allow me to practice what I have learned. This field is in it’s infancy and has many obstacles to overcome if we are to see the fullness of it’s potential. My outlet was to write a book which was self published (print-on-demand) and released in March 2002. The title is "Why Alternative Medicine and Why Now? A Primer on Holistic Medicine". In it I explore the impact of the mixing of ancient eastern wisdom with traditional medical practices. These approaches are quite different from each other and together they promise to result in an approach to health that will far surpass what we know now. I will talk more about this in subsequent newsletters. You could get a head start by buying my book at Amazon.com As demand grows, it may even become available at major bookstores. My next project was to develop a website, in order to help people find my book and serve as an introduction. I accomplished this task in October of 2002. As I find time (a rare commodity in this culture) I will add to the site until it hopefully surpasses the book in quality and content. You can find the site at www.BecomingWholeAgain.com . Please tell your friends about the website. As I was developing the ideas of the book and working with concepts like: how did the concept of duality develop and viewing different approaches to duality; several insights developed. These might seem like tedious thoughts but a clear understanding of what I have discovered may allow optimal health to be so commonplace that the expensive medical treatments that serve us so well now mare rarely be necessary. The next insight was that there is a direct link between optimal health and enduring peace. Stay tuned in: I’ll explain this later. For now, let me simply say, we cannot enjoy health without being champions of peace. Hopefully, this effort will set a firm foundation for peace. There are strong forces pushing the world toward war now but if we understand a few simple insights; the tide can be turned. I call the peace movement effort that will grow from this effort The Becoming Whole Again Project. I noticed that one of the illustration that I designed for the book (actually on the back cover) was ideally suited to be the New Peace Symbol. I had superimposed a lion and a lamb upon the Chinese Yin Yang symbol. You can check it out on the website and can even buy products with this logo at www.cafeshops.com/EnduringPeace . In 2004 I wrote my second book entitled "Holistic Government". It is available through Airleaf Publishing. Here the idea was that individual people cannot be healthy unless society is healthy. There is a group effort needed and a consensus for a government which protects the rights of the people. I have developed a separate website about this book at www.HolisticGovernment.com . I am grateful that you have visited my site and have chosen to sign up for my newsletter. If you like what you see and read here then please forward this letter to your friends. Hopefully they will chose to send it on as well until Optimal Health and Enduring Peace become a reality. It is possible to replace fear and war with peace and joy! Tony Kampner
