Mental Body

We might think of psychiatry when we mention the Mental Body; however I think that the mind simply needs room to exercise freely in an environment that is truthful. Psychiatric terms like depression are not exclusively mental problems. There are many other sources of depression. For example; one might be emotionally depressed or economically depressed. Failure to be true to our spiritual quests may lead to depression, even physical exhaustion may express itself as depression.

Another source of disease may be over-stimulation or overload.  In the case of mental health I believe that the brain has a limited capacity similar to a computer hard drive. At first it is eager to learn but when it is saturated then it tends to reject new information. If you fill it with junk then there may be no room for new ideas, even if they are excellent. When we are bombarded with bad news from the media or conflicting ideas, our mental and emotional  capacity can be overloaded which may result in fatigue, frustration and depression.

I would like to try and develop a case for the idea that clarity and truth are what keep mind healthy. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is required for healthy minds. I will repeat here the idea that health needs attention at two levels; the individual level and the social level. We must be truthful in our personal dealings for personal health and also the information we are trying to process should also be valid. when we try to process mis-information or propaganda we will become confused which will eventually lead to mental illness.

Government secrecy is detrimental to society and leads to conspiracy theories.

A few good references in this field include:

Critical Path   by  Buckminster Fuller is one of the best books I have read.

                Mount Misery   by  Samuel Schlem

Toxic Psychiatry by Peter Breggin is one of several books on the subject of apparently excessive usage of medication in the psychiatric field. Dr Breggin also has a website International Center for the study of Psychiatry and Psychology.

I would also categorize my book "Why Alternative Medicine and Why Now?" as an approach to health through mental clarity. It may seem tedious to analyze where duality originated and how it may have resulted in our divide and conquer approach to almost everything - has resulted in a chaotic and fearful society. Given our current situation, I feel the insights in this book are the keys to restoring personal and social health. We must understand a problem before we could hope to resolve it.

Another group that I would place under the category of mental health  is Physicians for Human Rights, because they are Truth Seekers. This is a group that investigates human rights violations around the world and publishes their findings.
